Storage Streatham Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Streatham in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and outlines the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Storage Streatham is committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and in full respect of human rights.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Streatham has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, and child labour. Modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights and is wholly incompatible with our values and the way we operate. We are committed to acting professionally and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to prevent modern slavery from occurring anywhere in our own operations or in our supply chains.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this zero-tolerance approach. Any breach of this policy by employees may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Any supplier found to be involved in modern slavery practices may have its relationship with Storage Streatham reviewed and potentially terminated.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Streatham provides storage facilities and related services to individuals and businesses. Our supply chain includes providers of property services, security services, cleaning and maintenance, equipment, packaging materials, technology, and professional services. We recognise that certain sectors and geographies may present a higher risk of modern slavery and we seek to identify and manage those risks appropriately.
We aim to build long-term, transparent relationships with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical conduct and respect for human rights. We expect our suppliers to comply with all applicable laws relating to employment, labour standards, and human rights, and to ensure that they do not engage in any form of modern slavery.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To reduce the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains, Storage Streatham is implementing proportionate due diligence procedures for both new and existing suppliers. These include assessing suppliers against ethical, labour, and human rights criteria, and, where appropriate, requesting further information about their own supply chains and labour practices.
We reserve the right to conduct audits and inspections of suppliers where we deem it necessary. These audits may involve reviewing documentation, policies, and procedures relating to labour practices, as well as site visits where appropriate. If concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to address and remedy issues within a reasonable timeframe. Where serious or persistent issues remain unresolved, we may reconsider or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Raising Concerns
Storage Streatham encourages employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains. Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through existing internal reporting mechanisms. Individuals raising concerns will be treated with respect, and we will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith.
All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly and, where appropriate, confidentially. Where we identify genuine risks or instances of modern slavery, we will take immediate action, which may include notifying relevant authorities and engaging with affected parties to support remediation where possible.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery lies with senior management at Storage Streatham. Managers with responsibilities for procurement, facilities, and supplier relationships are required to be familiar with this statement and to apply it in their day-to-day decisions.
We are working to provide appropriate guidance and awareness-raising for employees so they can recognise potential indicators of modern slavery and understand how to report concerns. This includes incorporating our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery into internal policies and supplier documentation.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Storage Streatham is committed to continually improving our approach to managing the risk of modern slavery. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year and update it where necessary to reflect changes in legislation, industry practice, and our own business operations. The review will consider feedback from stakeholders, findings from supplier audits, and any reported concerns or incidents.
As our processes and supplier relationships evolve, we will seek to strengthen our risk assessment, due diligence, and monitoring arrangements. By maintaining clear standards, promoting transparency, and working collaboratively with suppliers and stakeholders, Storage Streatham aims to play an active role in combating modern slavery and protecting the rights and dignity of all people involved in our operations and supply chains.
